BURMA: Ross rejects Burmese imports

The clothing retailer Ross Stores, with 452 stores in the US, has announced they will work to cut ties with Burma. Ross joins a growing number of retailers refusing to deal with the ruling military junta, which is accused of numerous human rights violations including widespread forced labor. The company’s decision preceded the June 11 California Superior Court order that the oil company Unocal must stand trial for human rights abuses in Burma.
