MIDDLE EAST: Assyrians hear native language on big screen
Mel Gibson’s film, The Passion of the Christ, gives Assyrians the chance to hear their native language, Aramaic on screen. Aramaic is currently spoken by small Christian groups in Iraq, Armenia, other parts of the Middle East, and the Caucasus.
