BELGIUM: Kurds gather in Brussels to protest Turkish repression

About 3,000 Kurds came out in protest in Brussels this week to demand for full political rights for Kurds living in Turkey. The activists also called for a general amnesty for all Kurds, including the release of all Kurdish political prisoners. Demonstrators also demanded that all Kurds be allowed to return safely to their homeland. The protestors included Kurds from all over the Netherlands, Germany, and France and many waved Kurdish flags and had pictures of Abdullah Ocalan, the jailed leader of the PKK, a Kurdish separatist group outlawed in Turkey.
