Jean La Rose of the Amerindian Peoples Association (APA) has recently won this year's Goldman Environmental Prize for Latin America. La Rose, APA's Programme Administrator, was elected as the representative for the Amerindian Peoples of Guyana to help form the Constitution Reform Commission and was subsequently elected as Vice-Chairman of thatCommission. Her leadership continues to play a key role in the struggle for the rights of the Amerindian peoples.
