Why We Care What You Can Do Who We Are What We Do

Our Programs

Indigenous peoples are losing their lands, languages, and cultures for a variety of reasons, so Cultural Survival tackles the problem through a variety of programs.

In many cases, indigenous peoples are suffering because the wider world does not know they are there or care about their problems. We address this problem through our public education efforts, which include our award-winning magazine, Cultural Survival Quarterly, our indigenous information source, Voices, and this website.

We also work directly with indigenous communities through our field projects, in which we provide expertise in training, organization, and other skills the people need to defend their own rights.

And in cases where indigenous communities are threatened by imminent disaster, we launch advocacy campaigns, which raise money to address emergency needs, provide legal assistance, or give whatever other urgent help is needed.
