First, let's celebrate a victory! For the second time in the last six months, last week Indigenous Ngöbe protesters forced Panama's president and legislature to revoke a law that threatened their lands and rights. Our congratulations and deep appreciation to the determined and courageous Ngöbe people who have sacrificed so much - deaths, hundreds of severe injuries, loss of work and income, jail - to protect their tropical rainforest homelands from foreign exploitation!
This is also a moment to show our support for the Ngöbe before President Martinelli makes another underhanded attempt to legalize corporate invasions of their lands. See a model letter here and please send your letter to the President and other government officials by mail or email today.
