"The Cultural Survival Bazaar brings together the work of dozens of skilled artisans and craftspeople from around the world in one place. With each step you take, the sights, smells, and sounds will transport you to a time and place in another land. Cultural Survival Bazaars

Cultural Survival Bazaars are a sensory celebration of the music, food, art, and crafts of indigenous groups from around the world. Serving as both a vehicle for educating the public about indigenous rights and cultures, and a fundraiser for Cultural Survival and its indigenous partners, each Bazaar is a unique and unforgettable cultural experience.
Every year, hundreds of vendors committed to ethical business practices and fair trade principles sell traditional crafts, artwork, clothing, jewelry, carpets, and accessories at the Bazaars. Thousands of New England residents take advantage of these globally-minded shopping opportunities, knowing that their purchases help Cultural Survival's work with indigenous peoples. Have you joined us yet?
This season Cultural Survival Bazaar is going Green!
Cultural Survival is committed to reducing the footprint these events leave on the environment and to minimizing the amount of waste that goes into landfills. Three to four thousand attendees at each event generate much waste. Let's work together to reduce it.
With the help of our generous sponsors and volunteers we plan to:
- Use compostable and biodegradable trash bags, cups, plates, and silverware
- Recycle all plastic, metal, glass, and paper the event generates
- Compost food waste
- Reduce wrapping
- Re-use plastic bags
- Encourage shoppers to bring with them or purchase canvas bags
- Encourage attendees to take public transportation. All of our locations are subway accessible!!!
- Reduce electrical use and save energy
- Encourage our food vendors to prepare organic, fair trade, and locally grown foods.
- Serve organic and fair trade coffee
By 2009 we hope to make the event waste free. We count on you to help us.
The environmental impact of the electricity used at this event has been offset by Mass Energy's New England Wind Fund, an easy way to support carbon free, healthy, wind power. www.NewEnglandWind.org
