Fundraising and Events Internship
A great opportunity for students and graduates alike, interns working in our fundraising and events department gain professional experience in development for a human rights organization. Interns at Cultural Survival expand their knowledge about indigenous peoples and their concerns, current events, and the inner workings of non-profit organizations.
Fundraising interns research foundations and grant opportunities that match the program and publication goals of Cultural Survival’s strategic plan. Qualified applicants are able to digest, analyze, and organize large amounts of information. They are required to update and manage existing data. Interns learn how to use a popular fundraising program for organizations, Raiser’s Edge, and also assist in the execution of fundraising and outreach events, gaining marketing and public relations skills.
Interns must be able to work diligently. They should be comfortable on the telephone and adept internet researchers. Interns must be independent, self-motivated, and reliable. Also, interns should be able to prioritize tasks and follow verbal instructions. Individuals who are willing to “go the extra mile” are encouraged to apply.
To Apply:
Send in one MS Word or PDF document a cover letter and resume to internship@cs.org. In your cover letter, describe your goals for the internship and explain how your experiences will contribute to Cultural Survival’s publications and programs. Include the date of your earliest availability as well as how much time you are able to commit to Cultural Survival during the work week. Please number your pages and be sure your name is on each. This is an unpaid internship; however we encourage applicants to seek grant support through their university or foundations.
